Non-Biblical World View
I. Rooted in Atheism or Pantheism,
Darwinism, and Communism-Socialism
1.
Naturalism
(materialism)—Atheism, Darwinism, and Communism are the main expressions.
2.
Post-Modernism—1. There is
no meaning to anything, 2. Everything is relative, 3. Everything is
fragmented.
3.
Do it yourself
spirituality—people invent their own religious systems; spiritual stew which
often is pantheism.
II. Rooted in the principle that man,
by nature, is good
1.
Governed by the Old Sin
Nature, the World System ideas, and the Angelic Conflict (Ephesians 2.1-3).
2.
Self-centered and in love
with self (2 Timothy 3.2).
3.
Only interested in your own
good and your own advancement and your own happiness (Matthew 6.19).
Biblical World View
1.
Creation—God created man in
His own image.
2.
Fall—Sin
3.
Israel—Messianic line
4.
Redemption—Christ, Grace,
Faith
5.
Life—Eternal life, both kind
of life and unending life
6.
Judgment
7.
New Heavens and New Earth
and eternity
Biblical view of man
Rooted in God: His character, His
redemptive plan, and His blessings (2 Corinthians 3.4-5; 5.15, 17).
1.
Man was created in God’s
image (Genesis 1.26) but because man sinned (the fall, Genesis 3.5-7) he
needs redemption (1 Timothy 1.15).
2.
Believers are in God’s
kingdom (Colossians 1.13).
3.
Church age believers are in
Christ (2 Corinthians 5.17).
4.
Church age believers possess
a Royal Birthright from God (Philippians 1.27-30).
5.
Therefore believers live
(Colossians 2.6-10) by faith (2 Corinthians 5.8), by the Word of God (2
Timothy 3.16-17), and by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5.16).
