1. Believers
are told to stand firm in the Lord (God) (Philippians 4.1; 1
Thessalonians 3.8; Romans 14.4).
2. Believers
are told to stand firm in grace (Romans 5.2; 1 Peter 5.12).
3. Stand
firm in the gospel (1 Corinthians 15.1).
4. Believers
are to stand firm in faith (Romans 11.20; 2 Corinthians 1.24).
5. Believers
are to stand firm God’s word (John 8.44; 1 Corinthians 16.13; 2
Thessalonians 2.15).
6. Believers
are to stand firm in the will of God (Colossians 4.12).
7. Believers
are to stand firm in your spiritual freedom (Galatians 5.1).
8. Believers
are to stand firm in your spiritual heritage (Philippians 1.27).
9. Believers
are to stand firm against the enemy (Ephesians 6.11, 12, 14; James
4.7).
10. Application
10.1.
Know where you stand; then believe where you
stand. Act upon where you stand, for where you stand is your spiritual
position of strength. It is your firm foundation. Study Matthew 7:24-28.
There Jesus teaches that those who build their lives on him and what he
teaches will be like a house built on a great and strong rock. Those who
refuse to build their lives on him and what he teaches will be like a house
built on unstable sand.
10.2.
All believers will eventually stand before the
Judgment Seat of Christ where each will be evaluated (Romans 14.10).
Standing firm in our position of strength will have a large part in
determining our rewards or lack of rewards at this evaluation.
