The purpose of Missions is
bullet

To proclaim the good news that eternal salvation is a free gift to all who will believe in Jesus Christ as Savior.

bullet

To teach the new believers Bible doctrine for spiritual growth and ministry.

bullet

To help the indigenous believers to form a local church, select a pastor-teacher and deacons, and begin to grow and serve Christ.

Spokane Bible Church supports several missionaries throughout the United States and the World, financially and through prayer. Those that are supported financially are listed below. View other missions.

bulletChafer Theological Seminary: (Recent prayer requests!) Chafer Theological Seminary exists to train biblical communicators both in the use of the original languages of Scripture and to do theology based on their exegesis. This we model with confidence in the sufficiency of Scripture, interpreting it naturally (literally) and, consequently, within a dispensational and free-grace framework.
bullet Village Ministries International: (Recent prayer requests!) Village Ministries International is a  non-denominational Christian ministry designed to take both the gospel and the teaching of God's Word to the people of the world. The target areas are villages and remote cities that ordinarily would not be exposed to missionary activity or Bible teaching.

bullet Glenhaven Youth Ranch, Plainview, Arkansas: (Recent prayer requests!)
For nearly twenty years, Glenhaven has provided long-term, Christian residential placement for young men at risk. It is a place of peace and beauty, isolated from many of the adverse outside influences of the world. As the cattle quietly graze in the pastures, the homes and school are a hub of activity and learning. It is in these settings, that young men come to terms with the struggles that each have inside of themselves. The young men who come to live at Glenhaven have behavior problems, which include rebellion and disobedience. Most are behind academically, or have some form of learning disability. Many of the young men have a history of neglect, abandonment or abuse. Their fathers are often absent from their lives due to death or divorce. Consequently, these young men experience difficulty in developing healthy relationships and struggle to trust other people or God.
bulletJames F. Myers Ministries - (Recent prayer requests!) Jim and Phyllis Myers, Ukraine. Missionaries to  Kiev, Ukraine; Zambia, Africa; Brazil, South America; Mogilev, Belarus.
How to pray for Missionaries: Do not pray, "God bless all the missionaries - Amen," but rather, pray that God:
  1. Will help them live their lives to the honor and glory of Christ.
  2. Will give them opportunities to fulfill their hearts' desire to reach the lost.
  3. Will give them a measure of health and protection that will best glorify Him.
  4. Will grant them grace to overcome the difficulties that may come their way.
  5. Will encourage them in the work so that they are not frustrated by setbacks.
  6. Will give them unconquerable determination to go through every obstacle with Him as their guide.
  7. Will allocate to them time to pray and study their Bibles.
  8. Will provide religious freedom in the countries to which they are led.
  9. Will help the presentation of the Gospel to be understood by those listening to it.
  10. Will restrain their activities in order that they might have the time and energy to accomplish His work.
  11. Will encourage them to discipline themselves in their Bible study and preparation of Bible lessons.
  12. Will help them overcome temptation.
  13. Will give them strength, wisdom, and guidance in bringing up their children in a foreign culture.
  14. Will cause their Bible Classes to be effective.
  15. Will help their new converts in the field to grow spiritually.
  16. Will give them grace to overcome the loneliness, irritations, and misunderstandings which may arise because of the environment, culture and circumstances.
  17. Will give wisdom so that the efforts that they put forth are for Him and not for self.
  18. Will provide for their material needs.
  19. Will provide the financial support for ministry needs.
  20. Will give guidance in knowing what to do and in planning when to do it.
  21. Will give enough fruit for their labors that they will stay encouraged.
  22. Will give them insight into the foreign culture so they might not be obnoxious or insensitive.
  23. Will provide protection from those who hate them because they are foreigners and Christians.
  24. Will strengthen them spiritually so they can stick with their decision to serve the Lord in a foreign culture.
  25. Will keep them humble when they are tempted to pride in comparing themselves to the people they minister to.
